An overview

The classic introduction to Romanian wine: leave Bucharest after work on Friday, sleep in a restored manor in the foothills, spend Saturday tasting your way along the Ceptura — Urlați ridge, and unwind on Sunday with a monastery garden and the slow road home.

Roads are paved throughout, drives between stops are short (10 – 25 minutes), and every cellar takes visitors by appointment. Best run between April and early November; September aligns with harvest.
